Experienced Oracle Infrastructure Engineer role requiring 4–6 years of hands-on Oracle engineered systems administration.
Work spans Oracle Exadata, ODA, ZDLRA, PCA, SPARC/x86 servers, ZFS Storage, Solaris, and Oracle Linux.
Responsibilities
- Deploy, administer, patch, and troubleshoot Exadata, ODA, ZDLRA, and PCA systems.
- Manage SPARC and x86 server hardware lifecycle, firmware updates, and capacity planning.
- Configure and maintain ZFS Storage, including replication, performance, and fault resolution.
- Operate Solaris and Oracle Linux environments; conduct health checks, risk assessments, and infrastructure reviews.
- Resolve escalated client issues while minimizing operational impact.
- Produce runbooks, incident reports, and configuration records; guide and liaise with clients.
Required qualifications
- 4–6 years of hands-on Oracle infrastructure and engineered systems administration experience.
- Deep Exadata knowledge covering architecture, components, Smart Scan, Hybrid Columnar Compression, Storage Indexes, and Flash Cache.
- Exadata installation, deployment, configuration, patching, upgrades, maintenance, and health-check experience.
- Practical knowledge of ODA, ZDLRA, and PCA; understanding of Oracle Database RAC/ASM, ASM disk groups, RMAN, and Data Pump.
- Solid SPARC/x86 server and ZFS Storage experience, with strong Solaris and Oracle Linux administration.
- Working knowledge of Oracle KVM; independent prioritization, clear communication, and methodical troubleshooting.
Preferred qualifications
- OEM, Oracle Cloud services, ExaCC, networking fundamentals, and Shell or Python scripting are preferred.
- Oracle certifications, including OCA, OCP, platform-specific credentials, or Exadata certification, are preferred.
