Role summary

Design, reverse engineer, test, and sustain electrical and electronic subsystems for military land vehicles and turret systems.

Support maintenance, repair, and overhaul by diagnosing faults, resolving recurring failures, and extending equipment service life.

Engineering and delivery responsibilities

  • Translate user requirements into subsystem designs and specify, source, and test replacements for obsolete components and recurring failures.
  • Maintain design files, schematics, drawings, product definitions, bills of materials, and technical data packs; apply ISO standards and control revisions through Engineering Change Proposals.
  • Develop test specifications, conduct bench and field tests, document results, and support design reviews and qualification.
  • Diagnose vehicle faults, define repairs, and issue technical bulletins for recurring problems.
  • Support procurement, suppliers, manufacturing, quality, and logistics; inspect and support acceptance of first-off items.
  • Plan engineering tasks, support policies and procedures, and coordinate with customers, military personnel, and suppliers.

Technical scope

  • Use Altium or equivalent to develop and reverse engineer PCBs and electronic components; diagnose, program, and repair vehicle ECUs and PLCs.
  • Design, reverse engineer, diagnose, and repair turret weapon-control systems and associated wiring harnesses using SolidWorks Electrical Suite, VeSys, or equivalent tools.
  • Design and reverse engineer military-vehicle electrical systems, repair harnesses, and troubleshoot power-pack controls using SolidWorks Electrical Suite, VeSys, or equivalent tools.
  • Understand CAN Bus communications and module interoperability; use diagnostic tools to isolate faults and verify repairs.

Qualifications and experience

  • B.Eng. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification or experience.
  • At least eight years of relevant experience, particularly in military-standard vehicle component design, manufacturing, testing, evaluation, and qualification.
  • Familiarity with military standards, vehicle operating requirements, and environmental conditions.
  • Strong troubleshooting, technical communication, and teamwork skills.
