Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic **Optometry & Opticals In-Charge** to oversee the operations of our optical department.
The ideal candidate should have strong experience in optical sales, sourcing and procurement of premium optical brands, sunglasses, lenses, and eyewear products.
The candidate will be responsible for driving sales, managing inventory, developing supplier relationships, and ensuring an exceptional customer experience.
Optical Department Management
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the optical store/department.
- Ensure smooth functioning of sales, customer service, inventory, and merchandising activities.
- Maintain high standards of visual merchandising and product presentation.
Brand Sourcing & Procurement
- Source and introduce new optical frame, lens, and sunglass brands.
- Establish and maintain relationships with local and international suppliers.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and exclusive dealership opportunities.
- Monitor market trends and recommend premium and luxury eyewear collections.
Sales & Revenue Generation
- Achieve monthly and annual sales targets.
- Develop strategies to increase optical sales and profitability.
- Promote premium lenses, frames, sunglasses, and optical accessories.
- Upsell and cross-sell products to maximize revenue.
Customer Service
- Provide professional guidance to customers regarding frames, lenses, and eyewear solutions.
- Ensure a luxury customer experience from consultation to product delivery.
- Resolve customer concerns and maintain high customer satisfaction levels.
Inventory & Stock Management
- Monitor stock levels and ensure optimal inventory availability.
- Coordinate purchasing, stock replenishment, and stock audits.
- Manage slow-moving inventory and recommend promotional activities.
Team Coordination
- Supervise optical sales staff and support team members.
- Train staff on product knowledge, customer service, and sales techniques.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and operational procedures.
Business Development
- Identify opportunities to expand the optical business.
- Introduce new product categories and revenue-generating initiatives.
- Build partnerships with healthcare professionals and corporate clients.
Requirements
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in optical retail, optometry centers, or optical store management.
- Proven experience in sourcing optical brands, sunglasses, frames, and lenses.
- Strong knowledge of optical products, lens types, and eyewear trends.
- Excellent sales and business development skills.
- Experience in inventory management and supplier negotiations.
- Strong communication, leadership, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and achieve revenue targets.
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma/Degree in Optometry, Optical Dispensing, or related field.
- Experience working with premium or luxury optical brands.
- Knowledge of UAE optical market and supplier network will be an added advantage.
