Responsibilities
- Greet patients and obtain medical and ocular history.
- Perform preliminary tests, including visual acuity, color vision, depth perception, and visual field testing.
- Conduct tonometry and pupil dilation as directed.
- Operate ophthalmic equipment, including autorefractors, lensometers, slit lamps, and OCT machines.
- Perform and acquire ophthalmic ancillary diagnostic tests, including OCT, corneal topography, fundus photography, and visual field analysis.
- Assist in refractive procedures, including pre- and post-operative assessments for LASIK, PRK, and other refractive surgeries.
- Assist ophthalmologists during examinations and procedures.
- Maintain accurate patient records using EHR systems.
- Schedule appointments and support patient flow.
- Sanitize, calibrate, and troubleshoot clinical equipment regularly.
- Coordinate with ophthalmologists regarding patients undergoing refractive procedures.
Qualification
- Diploma of optometry/optics or equivalent.
- Valid Saudi MOH license as an optometry/optics technician.
- No prior clinical experience necessary; full training will be provided.
- Strong interest in ophthalmology and eye care, with eagerness to learn in a surgical center environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately with patients.
- High attention to detail and ability to follow clinical protocols accurately.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume surgical setting.
- Basic computer literacy and willingness to learn EHR/EMR software.
- Professional demeanor, reliability, and a strong team-oriented attitude.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and assist with patient positioning as needed.
