Role overview

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-operation safety checks on port and terminal equipment.
• Operate machinery used for cargo loading and unloading from ships, barges, rail, and trucks.
• Inspect ITV, forklifts, reach stackers, RTGs, and Bobcats; troubleshoot issues and coordinate repairs or upgrades.
• Maintain radio and other communications with personnel supporting cargo loading and discharge.
• Keep accurate equipment operation and maintenance records.
• Ensure port and terminal work meets quality standards, safety regulations, and industry requirements.

Qualifications and experience

• High school certificate; a diploma is a plus.
• Valid U.A.E. Heavy Machinery License.
• Technical certification in port operations is an advantage.
• Excellent English; Arabic is an added advantage.
• At least 2–4 years of experience in a similar role.
• Experience operating port equipment and machinery in the ports industry.

• Strong technical and mechanical aptitude.
• Leadership, training, and mentorship.
• Thorough knowledge of port safety regulations.
• Ability to thrive in a collaborative environment and work with partners across organizational functions.
