Operations Head – Fuel Industry

Role overview

Fuel trading and logistics

• Oversee diesel procurement, order processing, sales coordination, delivery, supply availability, pricing trends, demand, product quality, and customer specifications.
• Plan transportation, delivery schedules, and vehicle allocation; coordinate transport providers and monitor timely execution and costs.
• Handle delivery issues, shortages, discrepancies, customer complaints, and required fuel-movement documentation.

Procurement and inventory

• Coordinate procurement based on customer demand, stock, and business needs; maintain supplier and contractor relationships and evaluate their performance.
• Monitor stock, storage capacity, product movement, receipts, transfers, dispatches, and closing balances; reconcile records and investigate variances.
• Negotiate operational terms, coordinate procurement strategies with management, and develop contingency plans for supply risks.

Compliance, customers, and costs

• Maintain valid licenses, approvals, permits, and operational documents, and ensure compliance with applicable UAE requirements and HSE procedures.
• Enforce fire safety, spill prevention, emergency response, and hazardous-material procedures; investigate incidents and maintain inspection and audit records.
• Coordinate customer orders and commitments, resolve delivery and service disputes, monitor operational expenses and profitability, and identify efficiency improvements.

Team and reporting

• Lead, supervise, and evaluate operations personnel; establish procedures and performance standards and train staff on safety, documentation, and best practices.
• Coordinate with sales, procurement, finance, logistics, and compliance teams; conduct operational reviews and prepare daily, weekly, and monthly management reports.
• Performance indicators include delivery execution, cost control, stock accuracy, compliance, supplier performance, customer satisfaction, reduced losses, reporting, and team productivity.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Petroleum Management, or a related field.
• Minimum 7–10 years of relevant fuel trading, diesel distribution, petroleum logistics, or oil and gas operations experience; managerial experience preferred.
• Knowledge of diesel procurement, trading documentation, transport coordination, inventory, supply chain operations, UAE regulations, licensing, and HSE practices.
• Experience managing suppliers, transport contractors, customers, and operational teams.
• Analytical, negotiation, problem-solving, decision-making, communication, coordination, and leadership abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, ERP systems, inventory systems, and operational reporting tools.

Working conditions

• Full-time position based in the UAE; work location is in person.
• May require visits to customer sites, fuel storage facilities, depots, and operational locations, and flexibility for urgent deliveries or emergencies.
