Operations Analyst, Production Support
Role Overview
Monitor and process batch and online applications across multiple platforms on a 7x24x365 basis using the ZEKE scheduler.
Support production applications in IBM z/OS environments and other platforms, handle production problems, and apply changes to the z/OS application environment.
The role supports processing environments across Ontario, Quebec, British Columbia, Investor & Treasury Services, US Wealth Management, and RBC Capital Markets.

Role overview
Monitor and process batch and online applications across multiple platforms on a 7x24x365 basis using the ZEKE scheduler.
Support production applications in IBM z/OS environments and other platforms, handle production problems, and apply changes to the z/OS application environment.
The role supports processing environments across Ontario, Quebec, British Columbia, Investor & Treasury Services, US Wealth Management, and RBC Capital Markets.
Key responsibilities
- Monitor production batch job flows across z/OS, VSE, HP, UNIX, Windows, and iSeries using ZEKE and MVS/ISPF.
- Identify problems through monitoring, inbound calls, emails, or tickets and provide production support to clients.
- Engage operations and support personnel to resolve technical problems promptly.
- Review errors with management, recommend permanent solutions, and identify potential impacts to the bank.
- Implement application changes and verify their accuracy and success; ensure services meet client expectations and service-level agreements.
- Use ZEKE, ZEBB, MVS, ISPF, IMS, DB2, VSM, OMS, OnDemand, CICS, ServiceNow, and Connect:Direct daily.
Required qualifications
- Undergraduate degree with an IT background and change-management experience in complex programs with frequent requests and multiple priorities.
- Strong written, oral, and presentation communication skills, including ability to determine stakeholder and project communication needs.
- Strong organizational and time-management capabilities.
- Able to meet deadlines and quality standards while handling varied tasks; role describes a 7x24x365 hybrid environment.
Preferred qualifications
- Programming or coding experience with Angular, React/Vue.js, VBA, C#, Node.js, Active Directory, Elastic Search, or Windows Servers is a plus.
- JCL and mainframe computing experience, a post-secondary degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Technology, and rotating-shift hybrid experience are nice to have.
Schedule and work arrangement
- The description specifies a 7x24x365 hybrid environment and notes rotating-shift experience in a hybrid work environment as preferred.
- Full-time, regular position; listed work hours are 37.5 per week.
