Monitor and process batch and online applications across multiple platforms and IBM z/OS environments on a 7x24x365 basis using the ZEKE scheduler.
Handle production problems and apply changes to the z/OS application environment.
Responsibilities
- Monitor production batch job flows across z/OS, VSE, HP, UNIX, Windows, and iSeries environments using ZEKE and MVS/ISPF.
- Identify problems through monitoring, calls, emails, and tickets; provide production support and engage technical support personnel to resolve issues.
- Review errors with management, recommend permanent solutions, and identify potential impacts to the bank.
- Implement application changes, verify their success, and maintain service availability according to client expectations and service level agreements.
- Use ZEKE, ZEBB, MVS, ISPF, IMS, DB2, VSM, OMS, OnDemand, CICS, ServiceNow, and Connect:Direct.
Required qualifications
- Undergraduate degree with an IT background and change-management experience in complex programs with frequent requests and multiple priorities.
- Strong written, oral, and presentation communication skills, including assessing stakeholder and project communication needs.
- Strong organizational and time-management capabilities.
- Ability to work in a 7x24x365 hybrid environment and meet deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.
Preferred qualifications
- Programming or coding experience with Angular, React/Vue.js, VBA, C#, Node.js, Active Directory, Elastic Search, Windows Servers, or related listed technologies is nice to have.
- Experience with JCL environments and mainframe computing is nice to have.
- A postsecondary degree majoring in Computer Science, Engineering, or Technology is nice to have.
- Experience working rotating shifts in a hybrid environment is nice to have.
Work schedule
- The role supports production processing on a 7x24x365 basis; rotating-shift experience is preferred.
