Network Operations Center (NOC) Supervisor
Job Purpose:
The NOC Supervisor is responsible for leading and overseeing 24/7 network operations to ensure high availability, security, and optimal performance across client and internal infrastructure environments. The role manages NOC engineers, supervises incident response activities, and drives operational excellence to maintain maximum network uptime and service continuity.
Key Responsibilities
Network Monitoring & Incident Management
- Supervise real-time monitoring of network infrastructure, systems, and services.
- Ensure timely resolution and escalation of critical incidents (P1/P2) to the appropriate support teams.
- Monitor overall network performance and availability to maintain maximum uptime for business-critical systems.
- Oversee incident handling processes, root cause analysis (RCA), and business continuity execution.
Team Leadership & Shift Coordination
- Lead and manage NOC engineers across rotating shifts in a 24/7 operational environment.
- Conduct team training, coaching, and performance evaluations to ensure operational readiness.
- Ensure effective shift handovers and accurate operational communication between teams.
- Support resource planning and workforce coordination to maintain continuous operational coverage.
Performance Optimization & Reporting
- Identify network bottlenecks, latency issues, packet loss, and performance degradation areas.
- Generate and review daily and weekly reports related to network health, incidents, and service availability.
- Recommend operational improvements and optimization initiatives to the Technical Support Manager.
- Support automation initiatives for network monitoring and operational efficiency.
Stakeholder & Vendor Coordination
- Coordinate with internal support teams (L2/L3), vendors, ISPs, and clients during major incidents and escalations.
- Ensure timely communication and status updates for operational and service-impacting issues.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education
Mandatory
- Bachelor’s degree in Network Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Professional certifications:
- CCNA
- ITIL v4
Preferred
- Master’s degree in Network Security or Cybersecurity.
- Advanced certifications such as:
- CCNP
- PCNSA / PCBSA
- Fortinet NSE
- AWS or Azure Networking certifications
Experience
Mandatory
- Minimum 5 years of experience in network operations, including:
- Routing & switching
- Firewall administration
- SD-WAN and cloud networking
- Hands-on experience with SIEM platforms and network monitoring environments.
Preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience leading NOC teams within 24/7 operational environments.
- Familiarity with:
- SAMA Cybersecurity Framework (CSF)
- NCA cybersecurity controls
- KSA government network and cybersecurity standards
Technical Skills
- Network monitoring and analysis tools such as:
- SolarWinds
- PRTG
- Wireshark
- NetFlow
- Incident response and escalation management aligned with ITIL practices.
- Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Business Continuity Planning (BCP) execution.
- Firewall policy management and network security operations.
- IDS/IPS administration and DDoS mitigation concepts.
- Scripting and automation using Python or PowerShell.
