Role overview
Ensure company data center and branch servers connect to the main network and that the network operates efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Administer and monitor routers and switches in the data center and branches.
- Provide technical support to keep the network operational; monitor subnets and their connection to the main network.
- Support branch networks during main-network failures and monitor company internet connectivity and performance.
- Inspect sites for new branch connections and select appropriate connection methods.
- Follow up on faults with service providers.
- Provide first-level support to users and escalate application or systems issues to the appropriate team.
- Prepare monthly reports on network performance and resolved problems.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, computer science, or a related field.
- Fresh graduate or out of work for three months; the posting also asks for experience in the same field.
- Strong understanding of network infrastructure and knowledge of application transport and network infrastructure protocols.
- Experience with LAN and WAN administration.
- Ability to create network diagrams and planning documentation, learn technologies from documentation, and work with IT staff.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
