Role summary

Housekeeping operations and budgets

• Communicate guestroom status to the Front Desk in a timely and efficient manner and inspect guestrooms daily.
• Prepare assignments using rooms requiring immediate cleaning and expected check-outs or discharges.
• Inventory stock and ensure employees have proper supplies, equipment, and uniforms.
• Support an effective inspection program for guestrooms and public spaces.
• Supervise daily shift operations and verify compliance with housekeeping policies, standards, and procedures.
• Manage the department to achieve or exceed budget goals and communicate departmental goals to employees.

People management

• Use on-the-job tools to train new room attendants and provide follow-up training as needed.
• Schedule employees to business demands and track time and attendance.
• Set expectations, maintain collaborative relationships, and administer policies and disciplinary procedures fairly and consistently.
• Observe employee service, provide feedback, support recognition, and address employee concerns and satisfaction results.

Guest service

• Set a positive example for guest relations and reinforce the brand's service culture.
• Help develop and implement corrective action plans to improve guest satisfaction.
• Empower employees to provide excellent service and handle guest problems and complaints.

Education and experience

• One qualifying route is a high school diploma or GED plus two years of housekeeping or related professional experience.
• Alternatively, a two-year degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related major qualifies with no work experience required.
