About Us

We are a leading real estate development company, recognized for delivering exceptional projects globally and setting new benchmarks in the industry.

The Technical Engineer (MEP) will be required to provide technical support to the Technical Manager in reviewing, monitoring, and verifying the quality and design compliance of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing works across the assigned portfolio during the construction stage and pre-handover.

The role will ensure that all works comply with approved IFC drawings, project specifications, authority requirements (DEWA, ADDC, ADCD, Civil Defence, Estidama), and Reportage internal quality standards (Master PQP, Master ITP).

The Technical Engineer coordinates with contractors, consultants, and internal teams, and supports the Technical Manager in the weekly technical meetings held with all project stakeholders.

The position is based in the main office in Abu Dhabi.

The role requires regular travel between Abu Dhabi and Dubai to attend the weekly technical coordination meetings with all stakeholders and to conduct site meetings across the assigned projects.

1. Technical Review & Design Compliance (MEP)

  • Review MEP shop drawings, material submittals, load and sizing calculations, and method statements; verify equipment compatibility (e.g. pump/filter hydraulic matching) and prepare clear, single-verdict review comments (including Revise and Resubmit where deviations are fundamental) for the Technical Manager’s endorsement.
  • Verify that MEP works on site comply with approved IFC drawings, specifications, and approved submittals.
  • Raise and respond to RFIs and Technical Queries (TQs) and assist in resolving design clashes and discrepancies.
  • Disclose the source document type reviewed (native CAD versus plotted PDF) and flag any compliance claims benchmarked against the contractor’s own criteria rather than the project specification.

2. Documentation & Reporting

  • Prepare inspection reports, submittal review logs, NCR/SOR logs, and mockup readiness tracking.
  • Maintain accurate, auditable records of all reviews, observations, and the status of open and closed items.
  • Ensure all formal outputs clearly separate Contractor, Consultant, and Client action items.
  • Assist in preparing technical reports, comparisons, and weekly progress summaries for top management review.

3. Coordination & Compliance

  • Support the Technical Manager in the weekly technical meetings with contractors, consultants, and internal departments.
  • Ensure works align with UAE authority regulations and applicable building codes (ADIBC, ADCD, DM/DDA, Estidama).
  • Report major risks or repeated quality failures immediately to the Technical Manager.
  • Support audits, quality reviews, and process improvement initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years in construction technical review / QA-QC in the UAE, ideally with a contractor or consultant on residential, mixed-use, or mid/high-rise projects.
  • Strong knowledge of MEP systems (HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, electrical, ELV), load and sizing calculations, and inspection procedures.
  • Familiarity with UAE authority approval processes and the engineering submittal workflow (shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, RFIs, TQs).
  • Candidate should have a UAE driving license and own vehicle (the role requires regular travel between Abu Dhabi and Dubai).

Preferred Attributes

  • Ability to review MEP shop drawings, calculations, and material submittals and identify technical and design issues.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, and document/submittal tracking tools.
  • Strong attention to detail, with a preference for clear, auditable, and traceable documentation.
  • Effective written and verbal communication for formal, contractual correspondence addressed to contractors and consultants.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage technical matters across multiple projects simultaneously.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary and commission-based incentives.
  • A dynamic and professional work environment.
  • Career growth opportunities in a leading real estate firm.
  • If you have the required experience and skills, and you're ready to take on a challenging yet rewarding role, we’d love to hear from you!
