Role overview

Inspection and construction oversight

• Supervise, monitor, and inspect contractor activities against approved shop drawings, materials, method statements, and ITPs.
• Inspect site conditions before construction and verify compatibility with designed permanent works, including checking for obstructions.
• Record existing property conditions and ensure structures, utilities, landscaping, and property are protected.
• Review delivered materials and equipment for conformity and proper storage, reporting discrepancies.
• Inspect temporary and permanent works against contract documents, approved drawings, and submittals.
• Respond to contractor inspection requests in a timely manner.
• Review shop drawings against contract drawings, specifications, local codes, statutory requirements, and international best practice.
• Report nonconforming contractor work to stakeholders.

Quality, safety, and records

• Monitor work quality and site safety, including health and environmental issues and applicable specifications and risk assessments.
• Prepare daily logs, reports, site records, and progress photographs for inspection.
• Prepare surveillance reports and non-conformance reports when required.
• Coordinate related disciplines, provide technical input to resolve site issues, and report safety or progress concerns.
• Assist with completed-work inspections and punch lists; monitor start-up, testing, commissioning, and handover.
• Perform other duties assigned by the direct manager.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• At least five years’ experience in a similar or equivalent position, including three years’ experience in the UAE.
• Knowledge of building construction, materials, systems, and trade practices.
• Computer proficiency and experience using computer software.
• Ability to communicate logically and clearly with management and staff.
• Commitment to safe work practices.
• Immediate availability is preferred.
