Role overview

Site supervision and compliance

• Supervise and coordinate mechanical engineering activities on construction and industrial sites against design specifications and quality standards.
• Conduct site inspections and technical assessments of mechanical systems, equipment installations, and infrastructure.
• Monitor compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and UAE building codes and regulations.
• Review and approve mechanical work, drawings, and technical documentation for accuracy and completeness.
• Identify and resolve technical issues and discrepancies, implementing corrective actions.

Coordination and handover

• Coordinate contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery and correct installation of mechanical components.
• Maintain site records, progress reports, and technical documentation.
• Lead and mentor on-site engineering teams and maintain professional standards.
• Communicate project status, challenges, and recommendations in project meetings with senior management.
• Ensure mechanical systems are tested, commissioned, and operational before handover.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Professional Engineering License (PE) or equivalent certification recognized in the UAE.
• At least eight years of mechanical engineering experience, including five years in site supervision or on-site project management.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, HVAC, industrial equipment, and construction standards.
• Proficiency in CAD software, such as AutoCAD or similar, and project management tools.
• Understanding of UAE building codes, safety regulations, and local compliance requirements.
• Experience with technical documentation, specifications review, and quality control.
• OSHA, NEBOSH, or equivalent safety certifications are preferred.

Workplace

• Work location model is on-site.
• New hires must attend an in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office location.
