Mechanical Engineer

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Supervise mechanical installation and inspect HVAC, plumbing, fire safety, and other building systems.
• Analyze drawings, blueprints, and specifications; identify issues and develop solutions.
• Inspect sites and report on progress, compliance, and deviations.
• Coordinate contractors, subcontractors, other trades, project managers, engineers, and stakeholders.
• Maintain compliance with safety protocols, building codes, and regulatory requirements.
• Troubleshoot systems, implement corrective actions, and maintain inspection, test, and commissioning records.
• Participate in equipment commissioning and handover; manage and mentor on-site mechanical teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering is preferred.
• At least eight years of building construction site supervision experience.
• Strong knowledge of commercial and residential building mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection.
• Experience preparing technical reports and construction documentation and working in a fast-paced construction environment.
• Experience with construction projects in the United Arab Emirates.

Work location

• The role is based on construction sites in Dubai and includes on-site supervision.
• New employees must attend in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office location.
