Role overview

Responsibilities

• Lead up to 12 engineers, technicians, and early-career professionals; coach and develop the team and plan resources across projects.
• Ensure delivery is safe, timely, within budget, and high quality; comply with design management, change control, technical review, CDM, HSE, and quality processes.
• Deliver and oversee M&E rail systems design projects, acting as CRE where appropriate.
• Identify programme opportunities and contribute to market development, business development, bid management, work winning, and tender submissions.
• Build client and partner relationships; coordinate multidisciplinary design teams and collaborate across project, technical, and market functions.

Candidate requirements

• Proven rail-industry leadership or senior engineering experience and experience delivering M&E rail infrastructure projects throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ability to manage multiple workstreams, programme schedules, budgets, and resources.
• Strong understanding of rail design governance, technical assurance, risk management, and project delivery.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, attention to detail, and commercial awareness; proactive and resilient approach.
• Experience supporting bids, business development, and work winning in consultancy or engineering is required.
• Chartered Engineer status or progress toward registration is advantageous; CRE or similar rail design-assurance experience is highly beneficial.
