Role overview
Material Planner role supporting Alstom project delivery and material availability.
Works with procurement, engineering, and finance teams to plan materials, optimize inventory, and manage material transitions.
Key responsibilities
- Act as Procurement Work Package Owner and deliver material milestones against agreed quality, cost, and delivery commitments.
- Analyze inventory consumption and identify trends and improvement opportunities.
- Set parameters for material planning and batch strategies.
- Execute plans to reduce inventory and maximize cash flow.
- Create purchase orders and follow up with suppliers to ensure timely delivery.
- Align material planning with project requirements through cross-functional collaboration.
- Participate in the Engineering Change Committee to plan material changes.
- Classify material by typology, including ABC classification and variability, to set planning tactics and support replenishment.
Qualifications and skills
- Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Knowledge of supply chain principles, inventory optimization, and procurement strategies.
- Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP and data analysis tools.
- Analytical mindset and ability to interpret data for decision-making.
- Experience or understanding of material planning, inventory management, and procurement processes.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
