Lead Field Engineer - Structural

Role Overview

What You'll Be Doing

• Lead and supervise all structural construction activities on site, ensuring compliance with drawings, specifications, contract requirements, and quality standards.
• Manage and provide technical direction to a team of structural inspectors and field engineers.
• Conduct regular inspections of foundations, concrete structures, steel structures, retaining walls, and temporary works.
• Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and stakeholders to resolve structural and construction issues.
• Review and evaluate structural shop drawings, method statements, material submissions, and inspection requests.
• Verify structural works follow approved designs, relevant codes, standards, and project specifications.
• Monitor construction progress and identify risks, delays, and constructability challenges.
• Review contractor work plans and ensure compliance with project schedules and milestones.
• Ensure implementation of quality assurance and quality control procedures for structural works.
• Maintain records of inspections, non-conformance reports, site instructions, and progress reports.
• Support testing, commissioning, and handover activities where applicable.
• Promote and enforce compliance with health, safety, environmental, and sustainability requirements.

Required Skills

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
• Minimum 15+ years of experience in structural construction supervision, inspection, or field engineering on major projects.
• Strong expertise in reinforced concrete, structural steel, deep foundations, retaining structures, and temporary works.
• Proven experience leading site supervision teams on large-scale projects.
• Strong understanding of structural engineering principles, construction methodologies, and international design codes.
• Experience reviewing structural drawings, calculations, shop drawings, and contractor submissions.
• Ability to identify and resolve complex structural and construction-related issues.
• Excellent leadership, communication, coordination, and reporting skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant engineering software.

Desired Skills

• Experience on mega projects, iconic developments, convention centers, hospitality projects, airports, or large mixed-use developments.
• Previous experience within a Construction Supervision Consultant (CSC) environment.
• Familiarity with BIM-enabled project delivery and digital construction processes.
• Experience supporting testing, commissioning, and project handover phases.
• Strong stakeholder management and multidisciplinary coordination skills.
• Professional registration or chartered status is an advantage.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and complex project environment.
