Role overview

Fleet systems and digital solutions

• Manage and optimize vessel management systems for maintenance, crewing, HSEQ, procurement, and fleet management.
• Lead fleet-wide digital transformation and process automation initiatives.
• Develop dashboards, reports, and performance analytics for management decisions.
• Integrate vessel, ERP, finance, procurement, crewing, and HSEQ platforms.

IT infrastructure and communications

• Manage vessel and shore-based IT hardware, networks, and technology assets.
• Oversee vessel communications including VSAT, Starlink, Inmarsat, and related connectivity.
• Ensure technology reliability, cybersecurity compliance, and operational continuity.
• Manage IT asset lifecycle, upgrades, and technical support requirements.

Contracts and compliance

• Manage software, IT, communications, and technology service contracts.
• Lead vendor evaluations, negotiations, renewals, and SLA management; monitor supplier performance and cost optimization.
• Standardize processes and ensure systems support ISM Code, IMO, ISO, and client requirements.
• Support audits, inspections, and governance.

Training and change management

• Drive user adoption of new systems and technologies; deliver training, guidance, and implementation support.
• Promote innovation and digital best practices across the fleet.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, Nautical Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• At least five years in digital solutions, fleet systems, IT infrastructure, or technology project management; the posting also states 5–8 years of marine/project experience.
• Experience managing maritime communications systems and technology vendors.

Systems and technical knowledge

• Vessel management systems such as AMOS, NS5, Helm CONNECT, ShipNet, Danaos, or similar.
• ERP platforms such as SAP, Oracle, Odoo, Microsoft Dynamics, or equivalent; Power BI, Microsoft Power Platform, and reporting tools.
• Maritime communications including VSAT, Starlink, Inmarsat, or Iridium; IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, and systems integration.
• English required; Arabic preferred.
