Role overview

The Strategy and Performance Manager works within the regional Chief Retail Officer organization.

The role analyzes business performance, develops data-driven insights, conducts market analyses, leads special projects, and helps ensure P&L targets are met.

Strategy and planning

  • Translate Group-level goals into localized Grocery and Retail strategies for different markets.
  • Lead annual and quarterly planning cycles and set revenue, cost, and market-share targets.
  • Evaluate new business opportunities, market entries, and service-line extensions, including talabat mart.

Performance and analysis

  • Analyze performance metrics to identify trends, anomalies, and improvement opportunities.
  • Prepare senior-management reports that explain key drivers and provide actionable insights.
  • Present findings clearly and translate complex data into recommendations for decision-makers.
  • Analyze individual markets to identify turnaround, growth, and profitability opportunities.
  • Work across departments to address issues affecting business performance and recommend improvement strategies.

Projects and P&L

  • Develop business use cases for new products and work on their implementation in line with strategic goals.
  • Collaborate with local teams on yearly budgets and growth and profitability goals.
  • Monitor budget adherence and identify opportunities to exceed financial targets and improve profitability.

Candidate qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field from a reputed institution; an MBA is a plus.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in food delivery, e-commerce, or management consulting; subscription-focused business experience is a plus.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience in P&L analysis, financial modeling, budgeting, and business impact analysis.
  • Expertise with data tools such as BigQuery, SQL, or Looker.
  • Strong analytical and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with PowerPoint and Excel, and/or Google Slides and Sheets.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, including structuring problems, detailed analysis, and translating data into actionable insights.
  • Experience in stakeholder or relationship management, preferably in food tech or related sectors; cross-functional team experience is a plus.
