Role overview

Cloud solution design and delivery

• Design and build end-to-end Azure and AWS cloud solutions aligned with enterprise architecture, security standards, operations, and Canadian compliance obligations.
• Translate business and engineering requirements into scalable, secure, reliable, cost-effective architectures.
• Create and maintain high- and low-level designs, reusable patterns, options papers, decision records, and implementation roadmaps.
• Direct integration designs for APIs, data pipelines, event-driven architectures, identity, and secure connectivity.

Automation, assurance, and governance

• Set and apply IaC and CI/CD standards using Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, Azure ARM templates, and Bicep.
• Validate implementation across IaC, pipelines, identity, networks, monitoring, security, integration, and operational readiness.
• Ensure compliance with security, governance, data residency, audit, and risk requirements for Canadian operations.
• Promote reusable cloud patterns, reference architectures, and supportable services; advise on roadmaps, options, risks, and trade-offs.
• Guide performance, reliability, resilience, security, and cost optimization using a FinOps mindset and assess emerging technology capabilities.

Cloud and platform qualifications

• Expert-level enterprise cloud architecture experience, including landing zones, networking, identity, compute, storage, monitoring, security, governance, and hybrid integration.
• Hands-on Azure and AWS service knowledge, including VPC/VNet, IAM/Entra ID, compute, storage, monitoring, logging, key management, routing, policy, and account governance.
• Advanced expertise with Microsoft Copilot Studio, Foundry, APIM, Microsoft Graph, and related workflow and automation services.

Technical qualifications

• Deep Terraform and AWS CloudFormation expertise; strong working knowledge of Azure ARM templates and Bicep; ability to create modular IaC deployed through CI/CD.
• Expert cloud security, least-privilege, encryption, logging, monitoring, guardrail, vulnerability-management, data-governance, residency, audit, and Canadian-compliance knowledge.
• Broad knowledge of hybrid cloud, storage, backup, disaster recovery, observability, networking, firewalls, WAF, SD-WAN, Windows Server, and Unix/Linux.
• Expert direction for APIs, integrations, event-driven services, and automated workflows; AI/ML familiarity is preferred.

Security and eligibility

• Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable Canadian government security clearance; additional requirements may apply for technical data, classified areas, or internationally regulated information.
• Must be eligible to work in Canada.

Compensation

• Hiring range is CAD 140,000 to CAD 170,000 annually; the role is eligible for a management incentive plan.
