Purpose

Manage a team of employees, contractors, and offshore resources that develops, implements, maintains, and supports software products and applications.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead enterprise-scale software application, integration service, and business-critical system development, maintenance, and support.
  • Manage software solution design and delivery using Java, CoolGen, and related technologies; ensure quality, security, performance, and reliability.
  • Oversee releases, enhancements, defect resolution, reporting, and resolution of complex production issues.
  • Translate business requirements into technical solutions with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Manage the full development lifecycle from planning and resourcing through testing, deployment, and post-production support.
  • Promote development standards and process improvement; collaborate with architecture, infrastructure, operations, and project teams.

Experience and qualifications

  • At least 5 years of experience in a software engineering environment.
  • Strong enterprise-scale, mission-critical software development and maintenance experience, including Java application development and support.
  • CoolGen development and maintenance experience is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of systems integration, APIs, web services, distributed architectures, SDLC, Agile, change management, and quality assurance.
  • Proficiency in SQL and database technologies, including data analysis and reporting.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
  • Fluent written and spoken English and Arabic; strong planning, resource management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
