Role overview

Akamai's Compute division designs, develops, and manages applications and infrastructure for its Compute products and services.

The manager leads a global SRE team supporting Linode Identity and Access Management services.

The team builds tooling and software to monitor and improve the reliability, scalability, security, and usability of Cloud IAM applications.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and mentor SRE engineers and unblock technical and process hurdles.
  • Partner with stakeholders to shape the product roadmap and own technical and product innovation.
  • Analyze systems and develop solutions, and organize SRE work in an Agile environment.
  • Build effective team relationships through commitments, accountability, and trust.
  • Contribute to internal research methods and share best practices.
  • Diagnose system performance and reliability with the SRE team.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of relevant experience and a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
  • Experience in SRE or development working with large-scale distributed systems.
  • Experience leading and mentoring a team.
  • Experience with cloud-native technologies and cloud deployments at scale.
  • Experience with container runtimes and Go, Python, or Bash scripting.
  • Familiarity with software development practices and product lifecycles covering build, test, deploy, and iteration.

Compensation

  • Base salary range is CAD 129,400–232,800 per year.
  • Compensation may also include annual bonus or incentives, equity awards, and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
