Role Overview
Reports to the Senior Vice President, Engineering, Environment, Maintenance and Reliability.
Manages processes, reporting, and systems within the engineering department and supports the SVP on technical and functional requirements.
Works with cross-functional and senior business leaders, stakeholders, and engineers on development, prioritization, management, and reporting of the capital project portfolio.
Develops and continually improves engineering standards and project management systems; the role is described as technical, process-driven, and data-driven.

Position summary

Key responsibilities
- Support directors with departmental management tasks and procedures; manage the engineering database and automate department reporting, including with Power BI.
- Manage the Sofina AFE process and work with cross-functional leaders and stakeholders to improve it.
- Provide PMO governance, oversight, and reporting for large strategic projects with the SVP of Engineering.
- Support development of RFQ/RFP, BOD, specifications, and equipment library standard documents.
- Manage AFE submission and approval for capital projects; maintain the Engineering Standards and Master Data SharePoint site.
- Coach and train colleagues on Sofina Project Management Standards; report and track engineering work for leaders and stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or qualification as an engineering technologist; seven years of experience in a similar capacity.
- Demonstrated cross-functional project team leadership in complex, multi-stakeholder environments and knowledge of capital project development and execution.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to produce reports and presentations for non-technical and executive audiences.
- Expert MS Office skills, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and MS Project.
- Proficiency developing, implementing, and maintaining Power BI dashboards and automated macros for reporting, analysis, and operational efficiency.
- PMP certification and engineering consulting experience are assets.
