Manager - Operations - FT

Role purpose

Terminal operations

• Manage terminal activities, optimize processes, update plans, and develop initiatives.
• Monitor productivity, resolve shift issues, and validate safety and operational mitigation strategies.
• Ensure materials and cargo equipment are ready for loading and discharging operations.
• Review operational policies and report on progress, productivity, costs, timing, safety, and security.

Equipment, stakeholders, and leadership

• Validate terminal equipment condition, troubleshoot faults, and direct maintenance repairs and upgrades.
• Maintain relationships with government entities, shipping agents, vessels, cargo operators, and other stakeholders.
• Lead and coach the team, support recruitment and training, and balance workloads.
• Control costs, maximize savings, manage risks, and support client satisfaction and retention.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Maritime and Ports, Engineering, or a related field; a master’s degree is a plus.
• At least 12–15 years in a similar role, with seaport operations management experience.
• Knowledge of container and general cargo shipping, modern terminal operations, and vessel and yard planning.
• Excellent English; Arabic and a Ports & Maritime Certificate are advantages.
• Experience in budgeting and finance, with strong communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
