Role overview

Based in Toronto or Montreal, this role sits within the Office of the COO at Lockton Canada.

The role shapes operating practices for client service and broking teams, using Applied Epic as the core platform.

The guiding goal is to maintain excellent client service while making colleagues’ work more effective and efficient.

Workflows and broking operations

  • Document SOPs and map client setup, marketing and placement, renewals, endorsements, and billing handoffs.
  • Reduce duplicate applications and supplementals through reusable master data collection.
  • Standardize submission packages, market summaries, quote comparisons, and binding requests.
  • Build practical templates, trackers, market activity reporting, and renewal timelines with broking teams.

Data, automation, and tools

  • Set standards for accurate, complete, one-time entry of client, policy, exposure, and premium information.
  • Recommend process changes, automation, or integrations to reduce repeated data entry.
  • Build tools with Microsoft 365, including Power Automate, Power Apps, SharePoint, Teams, and Copilot, and with Applied Epic.
  • Create dashboards and reports in Power BI or Excel to monitor service levels, timelines, workload, and performance.
  • Assess tools, build business cases, support pilots, and make recommendations to leadership, IT, and Finance.

Adoption and improvement

  • Train and coach colleagues on workflows and tools; gather feedback, track adoption, and continuously improve.

Required qualifications

  • At least 5 years in commercial insurance brokerage account management, client service, broking, or placement support.
  • Understanding of marketing and placement, including applications, submissions, insurer quotes, and binding.
  • Track record of building adopted workflows, templates, trackers, or automations that improve accuracy, speed, or client experience.
  • Strong Excel and data skills, including understanding data structures and producing useful reporting.
  • Curiosity about automation tools, collaborative credibility, and clear communication skills.

Additional experience

  • Applied Epic experience, especially activities, workflows, and reporting, is an asset.
  • Hands-on Power Automate, Power Apps, or Power BI experience and familiarity with Canadian submission, application, or placement platforms are assets.
  • Process mapping or improvement experience or training, exposure to commercial P&C and employee benefits, and system implementation or migration experience are assets.

About the opportunity

The role offers visibility to senior leadership and an opportunity to shape a growing brokerage’s operations and client experience.
