Maintenance / MEP Supervisor

Role overview

Maintenance planning and execution

• Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules and supervise corrective and emergency work.
• Receive, assess, prioritize, and assign requests based on technical competency, workload, urgency, and location.
• Track outstanding requests and ensure timely follow-up; verify and test completed work before closing work orders.
• Conduct site inspections, identify maintenance risks, and coordinate technical support among branches, factories, and head-office facilities.

Technical supervision

• Supervise HVAC, plumbing, MEP, and general building maintenance activities and guide technicians in diagnosing and resolving failures.
• Review recurring breakdowns and recommend preventive measures; ensure work follows technical specifications and manufacturer instructions.
• Identify jobs requiring licensed contractors or specialist technicians and inspect completed work for workmanship and operational performance.

Contractors, costs, and team

• Identify requirements for materials, spare parts, equipment, and external services; prepare justified requests and review contractor proposals and specifications.
• Monitor contractor quality and completion against approved scope, verify work before recommending acceptance, track expenditure, and ensure materials are recorded.
• Assign daily and scheduled tasks, monitor technician productivity and quality, identify skills gaps, and recommend training.
• Supervise safety compliance, document performance feedback, and escalate attendance, conduct, or performance concerns through management and HR.

Reporting and documentation

• Maintain work-order records and monitor equipment breakdown history and recurring defects.
• Prepare periodic performance reports and report critical failures, operational risks, delays, and major repair needs.
• Maintain records of contractor services, inspections, and completed repairs.

Qualifications and experience

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a relevant technical discipline.
• At least 5 years of relevant maintenance experience is preferred; at least 2 years of technical supervisory experience is preferred.
• Strong HVAC and building MEP knowledge and experience maintaining commercial or retail facilities.
• Ability to supervise technicians across multiple locations and knowledge of preventive maintenance, technical reporting, and contractor management.
• Good English communication and reporting skills; a valid UAE driving licence is preferred.
