Role
Support the Maintenance Team in providing plant maintenance expertise, reducing downtime, and completing equipment and building repairs.
Follow quality, safety, and legislative guidelines.
Schedule
- Evening and night shifts; overtime, weekend work, on-call support, and other shift work may be required.
Responsibilities
- Repair and install production machinery, including bearings and seals, and perform alignment work.
- Maintain RTU filters, belts, production areas, and common areas; perform preventive maintenance.
- Diagnose mechanical equipment faults using appropriate tools and inspections.
- Use and maintain power and hand tools; build buggies, carts, airlines, castors, and rails.
- Replace solenoids, motors, pumps, and gearboxes; replace lamps and ballasts and work with thermostats and sensors.
- Inspect safeguards, including safety sensors, limit switches, and photo-eyes.
- Plan and organize assignments; keep work areas clean and safe and remove waste.
- Report production defects, errors, and machine issues to the Maintenance Supervisor or Operations Manager.
- Work with contractors, oversee activities as required, provide resource support, and perform other assigned maintenance duties.
- Follow company safety, regulatory, environmental, quality, and legislative requirements.
Requirements
- Red Seal Electrician ticket and Grade 12 education.
- 1–3 years of related experience demonstrating mechanical aptitude.
- CMMS experience.
- Must be able to perform overtime, weekend work, on-call support, and shift work as required.
- Food processing plant experience is an asset.
- Experience with live animals and proper care and handling is an asset.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team; strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Good safety record and work ethic; success-driven, flexible, and adaptable.
