Role overview
Reporting to the Manager, Accounts Payable and Receivable, the Accounts Payable Specialist processes, tracks, and records payments across multiple entities and locations.
The role also supports finance operations process and system optimization initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Process full-cycle accounts payable, including vouchers and two-way and three-way invoice matches in the ERP system, while maintaining supporting working papers.
- Prepare cheque runs and EFT/ACH payments; reconcile bank statement payments to the cash book weekly.
- Communicate with vendors and suppliers and collaborate with internal departments to resolve or escalate issues.
- Follow procedures and policies, report significant deviations or concerns, and organize and file paperwork accurately.
- Cover receptionist duties during the shared AP/AR lunch-hour rotation and perform other related duties assigned by management.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of previous accounts payable experience.
- Strong data entry skills and experience handling a high volume of invoices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work well within a team and with other departments.
- Experience with SAP Concur or other AP automation tools is an asset.
