Join the Tech and Product team supporting TikTok US users through machine learning, reliability, data governance, privacy compliance, and system security.
Build and scale machine learning solutions for personalized, high-performing user experiences across recommendation, search, and e-commerce systems.
The role is designed for individuals completing or recently completing a degree and offers opportunities to pursue complex technical challenges.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, train, and evaluate models for recommendation systems, search ranking, query understanding, or conversion prediction.
- Implement pipelines for feature extraction, model training, evaluation, offline-to-online deployment, and A/B testing.
- Process user behavior data and catalog logs with distributed systems to create real-time and offline features.
- Optimize inference latency and throughput for high-QPS production microservices.
- Analyze online metrics, identify bottlenecks, and iterate on models through continuous A/B testing.
Minimum Qualifications
- Completing or recently completed a bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, statistics, or a related discipline.
- Strong background in data structures, algorithms, computer systems, and software design.
- Strong theoretical understanding and practical knowledge of machine learning concepts.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior internship or project experience in recommendation systems, search engines, computational advertising, or e-commerce AI.
- Experience with distributed computing frameworks.
Availability
- Successful candidates must be able to commit to an onboarding date by the end of the year.
- Candidates should state their availability and graduation date clearly in their resume.
Compensation
- The base salary range for the selected city is $100,320 to $177,840 annually.
- Additional discretionary bonuses, incentives, and restricted stock units may be available.
Workplace
- The company is shifting from a hybrid work model to a fully in-person schedule of up to five days per week.
