LME Trader/Client Liaison

Role overview

Primary duties

• Provide daily commentary on LME metals markets, price movements, market drivers, and economic events.
• Support trade capture, order management, position monitoring, and daily desk operations.
• Assist clients with trade execution, account queries, market information, and administrative requirements.
• Prepare market summaries, position reports, pricing updates, and trading activity analysis.
• Monitor exchange notices, news, and macroeconomic developments affecting metals markets.
• Coordinate with traders, brokers, and operations teams to maintain records and resolve issues.

Required qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or a related discipline.
• Strong interest in financial markets, commodities, and LME metals trading.
• Strong analytical, numerical, problem-solving, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
• Interest in using AI tools, automation, and data analytics to improve research and operations.

Preferred qualifications

• Previous exposure to options, derivatives, commodities, brokerage, trading, or financial markets.
• Experience producing market research, commentary, or analytical reports.
• Familiarity with Bloomberg, Refinitiv, LME platforms, or other market data systems.
• Experience with Python, VBA, SQL, Power BI, data analysis, automation, or AI tools.
• Additional coursework or qualifications in financial markets, derivatives, commodities, data science, or programming.
• CISI, CFA, or progress toward a relevant industry qualification is desirable but not essential.

Working environment

• The role is in-office.
• Travel may be required up to four times per year.
