StoneX Apprenticeship

StoneX offers apprentices real-world experience, development, support, mentorship, and career growth in a global financial services firm.

The apprenticeship includes networking socials, access to senior leaders, virtual and in-person training, and mentorship.

Position Purpose

  • The Operations department supports daily activities that keep global financial markets running smoothly.
  • Operations work includes transaction processing, settlements, reconciliations, client servicing, data management, and operational controls.
  • The role provides exposure to financial products, transactions, business areas, and regulated operational processes.

Potential Operations Teams

Candidates may be considered for Securities, Retail Trading, Operations Systems, Brokerage, or Reconciliations teams.

Final role alignment is determined later in the recruitment process based on skills identified during interviews.

The posting states that this is an Operations role, not a traditional Finance or Accounting position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support daily operational processes across multiple financial products and business areas.
  • Maintain account, client, and system information across internal platforms.
  • Assist with reconciliations and investigations to ensure data accuracy.
  • Process operational requests, transactions, payments, and reporting activities.
  • Respond to internal and external queries and provide operational support.
  • Work with Trading, Risk, Treasury, Technology, Compliance, Client Services, and Finance teams.
  • Prepare reports and maintain operational records.
  • Identify and escalate exceptions or discrepancies for resolution.
  • Support process improvement initiatives and departmental projects.
  • Learn industry regulations, operational controls, and financial market processes.

Qualifications

  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with tact and discretion.
  • Demonstrate sound verbal and written communication skills.
  • Understand financial terminology and show interest in the financial industry.
  • Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills, a sense of urgency, honesty, curiosity, and tenacity.
  • Demonstrate a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
  • Show confidence to fail and learn.

Early Careers Requirements

  • Pursue a B.Com, BA, or BBA degree from an accredited university.
  • Finish university by July-August 2027.
  • Be available for a January 2027 start and a six-month program.

Working Environment

  • The described working environment is four days in the office and one day at home.

Apprenticeship Compensation

  • Apprentices are paid at a competitive rate, but no compensation cadence is specified.
