Position Purpose
The Business Analyst role in StoneX Global Payments ensures effective requirement management, structured backlog creation, and seamless product delivery aligned with the product owner’s vision.
The role supports consolidating internal applications and standardizing new platforms by prioritizing product requirements, simplifying complex solutions, and delivering high-quality, scalable products.
Primary Duties
- Elicit, analyze, and document business requirements for payment and reconciliation systems.
- Convert requirements into structured user stories with clear acceptance criteria.
- Maintain and groom the product backlog aligned with product priorities.
- Analyze and map SWIFT MT and ISO 20022 MX messages across systems.
- Work with bank statements (MT940/950, CAMT.053) and reconciliation logic.
- Translate complex payment flows into clear functional solutions.
- Support UAT, defect triage, and validation of MT/MX outputs.
Minimum Qualifications
- Strong understanding of cross-border payments and correspondent banking, payment lifecycle and settlement concepts.
- SWIFT messaging: MT (MT103, MT202, MT9XX) and MX (ISO 20022 – PACS, CAMT).
- Requirement gathering and documentation.
- User story writing (preferably Agile/Scrum).
- Data analysis and mapping (good with Excel).
- APIs / file-based integrations.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management.
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving.
Nice to Haves
- Exposure to reconciliation processes, including transaction matching and break management.
- Understanding of Auto Matching / Intelligent Matching (AI/ML-based matching) concepts.
- Rule-based vs ML-based matching approaches.
