Legal Counsel

Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice and support to business units across the groups operations.
• Act as a trusted advisor to senior management on legal risks, structuring, and commercial decisions.
• Ensure alignment with UAE laws, regulatory frameworks, and internal governance policies.
• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of real estate agreements, including: Musataha agreements, Lease agreements, Development and joint venture agreements.
• Support land acquisitions, leasing strategies, and asset management activities.
• Advise on regulatory requirements related to real estate developments and retail operations.
• Draft and negotiate commercial agreements, including supplier contracts, service agreements, and operating contracts.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate legal and contractual risks.
• Ensure compliance with UAE laws and regulations, particularly in real estate and retail sectors.
• Support dispute prevention strategies and manage legal exposure.
• Manage disputes, claims, and litigation in coordination with external legal counsel.
• Oversee case strategy, documentation, and settlement negotiations where required.
• Maintain standardized contract templates and legal documentation processes.
• Support internal policy development and improvements in legal workflows.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB); LLM or equivalent postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
• **12 years of legal experience**
• , ideally combining top-tier law firm and in-house exposure.
• Strong expertise in real estate law within the UAE.
• Proven experience drafting and negotiating Musataha agreements.
• Extensive experience handling leases, development agreements, and commercial contracts.
• Strong understanding of UAE legal and regulatory frameworks.
• Experience working in large, diversified organizations is highly preferred.
