Role Overview

How You Will Make an Impact

• Lead the design, development, and support of Salesforce, MuleSoft, and integration solutions.
• Turn complex business requirements into reusable solutions, APIs, and integrations.
• Champion security, testing, resilience, performance, and engineering best practices.
• Provide technical leadership through design reviews, mentoring, and engineering governance.
• Resolve technical challenges and support successful production releases.
• Collaborate with architecture, product, business analysis, testing, operations, service management, and delivery teams.

Engineering Approach

• Reusable patterns and components are preferred for maintainable engineering.

Technology Stack

• Salesforce technologies include Apex, triggers, asynchronous processing, Lightning Web Components, Salesforce Flow, SOQL, SOSL, and Salesforce Cloud products.
• MuleSoft technologies include Mule 4, Anypoint Studio or Code Builder, DataWeave, reusable flows, connectors, API specifications, and API-led integration.
• Integration technologies include REST, SOAP, event-driven patterns, authentication, lifecycle governance, monitoring, logging, and alerting.
• Delivery practices include Salesforce DevOps, metadata deployment, Git, branching, pull requests, CI/CD, and automated testing.

Essential Experience

• Strong hands-on software engineering experience in complex, enterprise-scale environments is required.
• Practical Salesforce and MuleSoft solution, API, or enterprise integration experience is required.
• Experience with Apex, Lightning Web Components, Salesforce Flow, SOQL or SOSL is required.
• MuleSoft experience with Mule 4, DataWeave, connectors, reusable flows, and API-led integration is required.
• Experience designing for security, scalability, performance, resilience, recoverability, and maintainability is required.
• Experience with API patterns, automated testing, CI/CD, Git, controlled releases, defect diagnosis, and production incidents is required.
• Experience reviewing designs, guiding engineers, mentoring, and communicating technical trade-offs is required.

Useful but Not Essential

• Financial services or regulated-industry experience is useful but not essential.
• Knowledge of UK GDPR, secure personal or financial data handling, ITIL, or controlled change practices is useful but not essential.
• Experience with Financial Services Cloud, Salesforce Shield, Event Monitoring, Data Cloud, Agentforce, Einstein, Anypoint Exchange, API Manager, or CloudHub is useful but not essential.
• Salesforce or MuleSoft certifications and a background in fintech, consumer lending, cards, or retail banking technology are useful but not essential.
