Lead QMS Engineer based in Gaydon in a permanent role within manufacturing operations.
The role owns QMS compliance, certification, auditing, and continuous improvement in a complex manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Administer, develop, deploy, and enhance the Quality Management System.
- Keep QMS documentation, processes, and procedures current, compliant, and effectively communicated.
- Coordinate and support internal and external audits and maintain accreditation against recognized quality standards.
- Investigate QMS-related issues, manage quality performance metrics and risk activities, and drive improvement.
- Provide quality compliance guidance and work with operational, engineering, manufacturing, research and development, and leadership teams across sites.
Candidate requirements
- Significant manufacturing experience and a strong background in QMS, quality assurance, compliance, and auditing.
- Recognized Lead Auditor qualification and experience managing internal and external audit programmes.
- Analytical, problem-solving, organisational, and stakeholder communication skills.
- Experience interpreting quality standards, managing corrective actions, and driving continuous improvement is essential.
Desirable skills and experience
- Automotive industry experience is advantageous; candidates from automotive, aerospace, engineering, advanced manufacturing, or regulated industrial sectors are encouraged to apply.
- Lean Manufacturing, PFMEA, Control Plans, Root Cause Analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies are desirable.
- An Engineering Degree, HNC, HND, or equivalent professional experience would be beneficial.
