Role overview

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed estimates, budgets, and tender submissions for infrastructure and civil engineering projects.
• Review drawings, specifications, BOQs, and contract documents to identify requirements, risks, and opportunities.
• Analyze technical and commercial information to develop competitive pricing strategies.
• Gather information from proposals, specifications, subcontractor quotations, and site investigations.
• Prepare estimating reports and recommendations for senior management.
• Maintain pricing databases and benchmarks using estimating software.
• Conduct site visits as needed to understand project scope and construction methods.
• Collaborate with operational, commercial, and technical teams during bids.
• Lead and mentor junior estimators and support consistent, quality tender submissions.

Ideal background

• Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• At least 10 years of estimating experience in civil engineering, utilities, or infrastructure construction.
• Strong proficiency in CCS Candy and other estimating software.
• Experience estimating complex infrastructure and utility projects in a contractor environment.
• Previous experience managing or leading an estimating team.
• Strong knowledge of UAE construction costs, procurement practices, contracts, and market conditions.
• Strong analytical, communication, presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Fluent English is essential; Arabic or French is advantageous.
• Knowledge of pavement, asphalt, or related civil infrastructure works is beneficial.
