Lead design, analysis, and optimization of components across GE Vernova’s gas power portfolio.
Take technical ownership, support product upgrades, and ensure designs meet performance and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform mechanical design and stress, modal, and lifing analyses for gas turbine, steam, generator, and accessory-system components.
- Own mechanical hardware, conduct validation testing, and assess thermal growth, manufacturing variation, and assembly stack-up.
- Work with engineering, manufacturing, and sourcing teams to optimize subsystems and components.
- Lead root-cause analyses to improve reliability, quality, and yield; apply Lean principles to process improvement.
- Manage milestones through technical reviews and follow NPI processes and design practices.
- Coach team members and collaborate with Principal and Chief Engineers.
Basic qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related STEM field from an accredited institution.
- At least four years of relevant engineering experience.
Desired qualifications
- An additional one to two years of relevant engineering experience and an advanced degree are desired.
- ANSYS, NX, Python, or Excel VBA proficiency for data analysis is desired.
- A Lean mindset, familiarity with AI-driven tools, and interest in innovative design are desired.
- Collaborative working style and strong communication skills are desired.
