Lead Designer - BIM HVAC

Role overview

Daily duties

• Size and route HVAC ducts and pipes, plan HVAC equipment spaces, and coordinate with other disciplines.
• Model plumbing and fire-fighting services and provide CAD drafting, BIM modeling, and design support.
• Coordinate and manage Revit models; create Revit families and CAD blocks.
• Complete assigned design or drafting work, check accuracy and completeness, use quality-control checklists, and meet deadlines.
• Record project time weekly and complete printing and plotting requests.
• Ensure compliance with BIM Execution and BIM Scope Plans and set up project base files.
• Assemble composite models for coordination meetings and support clash detection, reporting, and resolution.
• Coordinate BIM file exchange and archive milestone submissions.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of Revit experience and two or more years of AutoCAD experience.
• The description also calls for a minimum of seven years providing BIM execution oversight, model management, model QC, and VDC support.
• Understanding of MEP systems and practical experience with Autodesk Revit and related BIM software.
• Solid understanding of legacy CAD practices, particularly AutoCAD.
• Ability to communicate digital design concepts, develop training materials, deliver training, and support Revit project teams.
• Reliability, responsiveness, integrity, judgment, prioritization, and ability to meet deadlines are expected.

Tools and additional experience

• Familiarity with Autodesk 360, 3D Studio Max, Navisworks, ProjectWise, MicroStation Echo Sim 3D, and Bluebeam is mentioned.
• Plumbing and fire-fighting service modeling knowledge is an added advantage.
• Experience in hospitality, healthcare, aviation, rail, or the Middle East region is an added advantage.
