Lead Designer - BIM HVAC

Role overview

Daily duties

• Size and route HVAC ducts and pipes and plan HVAC equipment spaces.
• Coordinate with other disciplines and model plumbing and fire-fighting services.
• Provide CAD drafting, BIM modeling, and design support; coordinate and manage Revit models.
• Create Revit families and CAD blocks, complete assigned design or drafting work, and review work for accuracy.
• Apply quality checklists, meet deadlines, maintain weekly time accounting, and complete printing and plotting requests.
• Ensure compliance with BIM Execution and BIM Scope Plans and set up project base files.
• Assemble composite design models and facilitate coordination and clash detection, including collision reports and resolution.
• Coordinate BIM file exchanges and archive milestone submittals.
• Communicate digital design concepts, support Revit team training, learn new tools, and uphold professional standards.

Qualifications and experience

• At least 7 years of experience in BIM execution oversight, model management, model quality control, and VDC support.
• At least 5 years of Revit experience and 2 years of AutoCAD experience.
• Understanding of MEP systems and practical experience with Revit and related BIM software.
• Solid understanding of legacy CAD applications and practices, particularly AutoCAD.
• Ability to communicate clearly, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines.
• Experience developing learning materials, delivering training, and supporting Revit project teams.

Additional tools and advantageous experience

• Familiarity with Autodesk 360, 3D Studio Max, or Navisworks is sought.
• Familiarity with ProjectWise, MicroStation Echo Sim 3D, and Bluebeam is sought.
• Plumbing and fire-fighting modeling experience is advantageous.
• Experience in hospitality, healthcare, aviation, rail, or the Middle East region is advantageous.
