It serves marketplaces, D2C brands, SMEs, and enterprise shippers.
Role overview
The lead owns a strategic merchant segment and acts as player-coach to a small business development pod.
The position is a senior individual-contributor role currently, with a stated path toward people management as the team scales.
Responsibilities
- Own segment pipeline, revenue, and account health; close high-value enterprise merchants, large D2C brands, marketplaces, and category leaders.
- Negotiate multi-year contracts, volume commitments, SLA-linked pricing, and commercial models.
- Mentor 2–4 BD Executives and Specialists; review pipelines, coach pitches, unblock deals, and run weekly forecast reviews.
- Partner with Operations and Fleet on capacity and Product on roadmap inputs.
- Define and execute the commercial operating plan and establish the team's playbook.
Requirements
- 3–5 years in B2B commercial roles, including business development, enterprise sales, key account management, or commercial strategy.
- Experience in logistics/last-mile/3PL, e-commerce enablement, marketplace partnerships, payments, or SaaS sold into retail is strongly preferred.
- Comfort with unit economics and pricing strategy; experience mentoring junior commercial talent and readiness for future direct reports.
- Confident pitching to founders and decision-makers; strong pipeline discipline, analytical skills, and familiarity with AI tools.
- Deep UAE market knowledge; senior relationships in e-commerce, D2C, retail, or logistics are a major plus.
- Bachelor's degree required. MBA is a plus, not a requirement.
