Landscape Civil Engineer

Role overview

Qualifications and experience

• Valid SOE (Society of Engineers – UAE) membership and a UAE driving licence are specified.
• Bachelor's degree in Landscape Engineering, Landscape Architecture, Civil Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Horticulture, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in landscape design, construction, or maintenance, depending on the role.
• Strong knowledge of landscape construction, planting design, irrigation, drainage, grading, and hardscape works.
• Proficiency in design and drafting software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, SketchUp, Revit, or other landscape design tools.
• Familiarity with local landscape standards, environmental regulations, sustainable design practices, plant materials, soil science, and landscape maintenance.
• Experience preparing landscape drawings, specifications, bills of quantities, and cost estimates; ability to review shop drawings, submittals, and construction methodologies.
• Strong project management, coordination, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills; able to inspect sites, monitor quality, and resolve technical issues.
• Immediate joiner preferred.

Design and coordination

• Plan, design, and develop landscape projects to meet client requirements, specifications, and applicable standards.
• Prepare landscape drawings, planting plans, hardscape layouts, irrigation plans, grading plans, and technical details.
• Coordinate with architects, civil, structural, and MEP engineers, and other project stakeholders.
• Prepare technical specifications, bills of quantities, cost estimates, and material schedules.
• Review and approve shop drawings, material submittals, and samples for compliance.

Construction delivery

• Supervise softscape, hardscape, irrigation, lighting, and site-furnishing construction activities.
• Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality, safety, and compliance with approved drawings and specifications.
• Ensure proper installation of plants, irrigation systems, paving, retaining walls, water features, and other landscape elements.
• Monitor contractor performance and provide technical guidance to resolve construction issues.
• Prepare progress reports, inspection reports, snag lists, and project documentation.
• Support project planning, budgeting, procurement, and contract administration; promote quality assurance and HSE standards.
• Participate in project meetings and maintain communication with clients, consultants, contractors, and suppliers.
