Laboratory Technician

Role overview

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and properly handle, identify, and store test samples and specimens.
• Operate and maintain calibration of laboratory equipment to support accurate and reliable results.
• Follow safety protocols and contribute to a safe work environment.
• Support senior technicians and the Laboratory Manager with specialized testing and reporting.
• Participate in technical training and continuing professional development.

Requirements

• Diploma or degree in Laboratory Technology, Civil Engineering, Geology, Geosciences, Earth Sciences, or a related field.
• At least 1–2 years of experience in a similar role.
• Familiarity with testing standards and methodologies such as BS, ASTM, ISO, BS EN, and ISRM.
• Computer literacy and basic knowledge of laboratory equipment operation and troubleshooting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
