Job Purpose:

The primary focus of the position is the review of architectural drawings submitted to the Design Review Team and them the creation of Lease Outline Drawings (LODs). The Retail Architect will review concepts and detailed submissions against a retail asset specific design criteria. The architect will have previously studied and analyzed the Design Criteria and will refer to specific Checklists and Comments while creating and reviewing LODs. The Retail Architect will review shell and core drawings to aggregate appropriate details to include in unit specific LODs. Both Design Review and LOD Creation will be performed under the guidance and supervision of the Design Manager

Other than the person(s) authorized to do so no policies, procedures and processes will be altered or changed without approval. All company standards will be abided by as per the terms and conditions and the position description for the specified position. Primary Objectives:

1. Maintains professional knowledge in order to support the delivery of the Design Review and LOD product.

1.1 Studies the Design Criteria Manual to ensure understanding; highlights any discrepancy driven by his/her experience

1.2 Understands each developments’ review process and the scope of work provided by Vindico Retail

1.3 Conducts physical site visits to be familiar with the base build surroundings

1.4 Maintains an awareness of multiple municipality building codes to monitor compliance within submission across multiple assets

1.5 Monitors project documentation including, but not limited to, the shell building Construction Documents, Tenant Design Criteria, Technical Design Criteria, Contractor Rules & Regulations and Tenants lease work information etc.

1.6 Create LOD’s with minimum guidance and ensures accuracy of all information included in the drawings.

1.7 Review shell and core drawings with a keen eye for understanding various design scenarios and details based on unit locations and type within the project

2. Demonstrates attention to detail during design review; providing consistency to the stakeholders.

2.1 Utilizes time to fully understand architectural submissions in order to review them against the set criteria

2.2 Ensures that the Design Criteria of the development are upheld throughout the review process unless instructed by the Design Manager

2.3 Coordinates drawings with the Tenant, Leasing, Legal and Marketing & Project Teams when required

2.4 Completes on-site inspections of design to ensure as built reflects the approved design, produces snag reports when required

3. Adopts appropriate methods of communication to ensure that messages are relayed in the intended manner.

3.1 Articulates self clearly on drawing submissions using comments or sketches that are easily interpreted by the stakeholder

3.2 Communicates positively with project teams, maintaining team work and a collaborative approach to the design review process

3.3 Attends regular team update meetings as requested by the Design Manager to ensure full coordination requirements for all projects

4. Completes Design Review and LOD deliverables in a timely manner.

4.1 Reviews complete submissions against development documentation within the specified time frame

4.2 Produces LOD against most updated base build drawings within the specified time frame.

4.3 Completes all Design Review process documentation including drawing checklists and comments sheets in detail and submits them accordingly

4.4 Maintains reports to provide current status on all projects

Working days: Mon – Friday.

Pay: AED5,000.00 - AED6,000.00 per month
