Junior Accountant supporting a client’s Accounting & Tax team.
Initially focuses on daily bookkeeping, accurate data entry, and clearing outstanding accounting work, with scope to develop under experienced team guidance and internal procedures.
Key responsibilities
- Enter supplier and customer invoices, receipts, payments, and expenses accurately and on time; classify transactions using appropriate general ledger accounts.
- Assist with bank and credit card reconciliations; review, verify, and organize accounting documentation.
- Identify missing information, discrepancies, and incomplete records, escalating issues to the supervising accountant.
- Clear outstanding bookkeeping tasks and maintain accurate records, supported entries, organized digital records, and client files.
- Take on additional accounting responsibilities progressively as skills and experience develop.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Ideally 1–2 years of practical accounting or bookkeeping experience.
- Sound understanding of basic accounting principles, including double-entry bookkeeping.
- Experience with accounting software; QuickBooks knowledge is an advantage.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, organization, and ability to handle repetitive tasks efficiently.
- Ability to follow instructions, established procedures, and deadlines; good written and spoken English.
