Role overview

RTA is recruiting a senior engineer for road and facilities maintenance.

The position oversees maintenance strategy and delivery for road assets, including road and bridge rehabilitation and upgrades.

Strategy and operations

  • Formulate policies, standards, and multi-year maintenance programs aligned with asset management and sustainability goals.
  • Review and approve contracts, tenders, and designs against technical, legal, and statutory requirements.
  • Monitor road conditions, prioritize works, and allocate resources to contractors and internal teams.
  • Manage budgets and costs; oversee delivery and report progress, KPIs, and risks to the Director.

Improvement and inspections

  • Recommend AI-enabled, data-driven improvements using KPIs and innovation metrics.
  • Prepare technical reports, studies, and value engineering proposals.
  • Lead internal training and knowledge sharing.
  • Optimize inspection strategies, maintenance intervals, and geometric compliance.
  • Inspect Dubai road networks and facilities outdoors in traffic environments, including occasional emergency or after-hours visits.

Education and experience

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in civil engineering or a relevant field is required.
  • Requires at least 9 years of experience with a master's degree or 11 years with a bachelor's degree.

Working conditions

  • The role includes field inspections across Dubai road networks and facilities in outdoor traffic environments.
  • Occasional emergency or after-hours visits may be required.
