Java Developer Associate

Role Overview

Accountabilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance applications using Core Java and Java SE.
• Build and maintain web applications using JSP and Servlets, following MVC where appropriate.
• Work with Java frameworks such as Spring, Spring Boot, Hibernate, or Struts.
• Develop and support desktop and web-based applications for Windows, macOS, and Linux.
• Integrate RESTful web services and APIs.
• Use JavaScript, CSS, and related web technologies.
• Work with IDEs such as IntelliJ IDEA, Eclipse, or NetBeans.
• Collaborate with senior team members and follow technical instructions.
• Apply good development practices and maintain code quality.
• Support testing and troubleshooting activities.

Requirements

• At least 2.5 years of relevant professional development experience.
• Strong knowledge of Core Java and Java SE, including object-oriented programming.
• Familiarity with Java 8 or later features, including lambda expressions and streams.
• Hands-on experience with JSP and Servlets for web application development.
• Understanding of the MVC design pattern.
• Experience with at least one Java framework such as Spring, Spring Boot, Hibernate, or Struts.
• Practical experience developing and deploying desktop and web-based applications for Windows, macOS, and Linux.
• Knowledge of RESTful web services and APIs.
• Basic to intermediate knowledge of JavaScript and foundational understanding of CSS.
• Experience with an IDE such as IntelliJ IDEA, Eclipse, or NetBeans, with IntelliJ IDEA preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with modern JavaScript frameworks or libraries such as React, Angular, or Vue.js is an advantage.
• Knowledge of SQL databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle and ORM tools such as Hibernate is preferred.
• Experience with Git and platforms such as GitHub or Bitbucket is an advantage.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Microsoft Azure is beneficial.
• Knowledge of testing frameworks such as JUnit or TestNG is preferred; experience with Selenium is a plus.
• Good teamwork skills, honesty, integrity, and ability to follow instructions from senior team members.
• Availability to work approximately 20 hours per week initially, with a preference for morning shifts in the Eastern Time Zone and flexibility for weekend scheduling.
• Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively in a remote working environment.
