IT Support Specialist
About This Role
Core Purpose
An IT Support Specialist is responsible for maintaining an organization’s computer systems, networks, and hardware, while providing technical assistance to end-users. They act as the first line of defense when technology fails, ensuring employees can work efficiently and securely.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution: Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network problems (e.g., login issues, printer errors, application crashes).
- User Support: Assist employees via phone, email, chat, or in-person, often through a ticketing system. Explain solutions in non-technical terms.
- Hardware & Software Setup: Configure and deploy desktops, laptops, monitors, phones, and peripherals. Install, update, and license software.
- Account & Access Management: Create, modify, or disable user accounts (e.g., Active Directory, email, VPN). Reset passwords and manage permissions.
- System Maintenance: Perform routine updates, backups, antivirus scans, and patch management. Monitor system performance and security alerts.
- Documentation: Write knowledge base articles, FAQs, and how-to guides. Track asset inventory and repair logs.
- Collaboration: Escalate complex issues to network administrators, cybersecurity teams, or vendors.
Required Skills & Tools
- Technical: Windows/macOS/Linux, Microsoft 365/Google Workspace, networking basics (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP), remote desktop tools (TeamViewer, RDP), ticketing systems (Jira, ServiceNow, Zendesk).
- Soft Skills: Patience, clear communication, problem-solving, customer service, ability to prioritize under pressure.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: AED140,000.00 - AED165,000.00 per year
Expected hours: 40 per week
Work Location: In person
