Role overview
The SRO Operations environment includes HPE NonStop, mainframe, network, and distributed systems operations supporting global business clients and service partners.
The team strengthens its 24/7 support model through automation, monitoring improvements, and operational excellence.
This role provides 24/7/365 technical support for RBC’s global HPE NonStop environments.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support and excellent client service.
- Manage faults and incidents, escalate problems, and carry out change management.
- Run and monitor batch processes.
- Recommend process improvements and automate manual tasks, including message suppression and toil reduction.
Must-have qualifications
- Demonstrated written, oral, and presentation communication skills, including identifying stakeholder and project communication needs.
- Strong understanding of technology and/or financial services.
- Ability to learn tools and systems quickly, apply new knowledge, and transfer knowledge to others.
- Ability to manage expectations with the team, management, and clients, and deliver on them.
- Strong knowledge of HPE NonStop (Tandem), IBM iSeries/NSK, Unix/AIX/Linux, networks, distributed systems, and console-based technologies.
- Knowledge of ServiceNow, Moogsoft, ITIL Foundation, and mainframe tools including TSO/ISPF, VSAM, Endevor, File Aid, Xpediter, and SPUFI.
Nice-to-have qualifications
- Experience in a matrix environment, such as a large publicly traded corporation.
- Ability to facilitate between and influence key decision-makers; strategic thinking and interpersonal skills across functions and businesses.
