Supports RBC's global HPE NonStop operations within an environment that also includes mainframe operations, networks, and distributed systems.
The operations function provides service to global business clients and partners and is strengthening its 24/7 support model through automation and improved monitoring.
What you will do
- Provide technical support for global HPE NonStop environments on a 24/7/365 basis.
- Manage faults and incidents, escalate problems, and support change management.
- Run and monitor batch processes.
- Recommend process improvements and automate manual tasks, including message suppression and toil reduction.
Must-have qualifications
- Strong written, oral, and presentation communication skills and ability to determine stakeholder and project communication needs.
- Strong understanding of technology and/or financial services, with the ability to learn tools and systems quickly and transfer knowledge.
- Ability to manage expectations with teams, management, and clients and deliver on them.
- Strong knowledge of HPE NonStop (Tandem), IBM iSeries/NSK, Unix/AIX/Linux, networks, distributed systems, and console-based technologies.
- Knowledge of ServiceNow, Moogsoft, ITIL Foundation, and mainframe technologies and tools including TSO/ISPF/VSAM/Endevor/File Aid, Xpediter, and SPUFI.
Nice-to-have qualifications
- Experience in a matrix environment, such as a large publicly traded corporation.
- Ability to facilitate between and influence key decision makers.
- Strategic thinking and strong interpersonal skills for working across functions and businesses.
